THE ARTIST & HER VISION
I paint because I am compelled by the beauty of how things simply look.
My work begins with patient observation: studying surfaces, light, shadow, and structure until the ordinary transforms into something extraordinary. Each piece is built slowly, with attention to detail, revealing not just an image but the presence and character within it.
Before becoming a full-time painter, I spent many years practicing as an obstetrician-gynecologist in New York City. Medicine taught me precision, discipline, and careful observation qualities that naturally became part of my artistic process.
My painting education includes study with Carlos Castaños, Andy Reiss, Steve Forster, and Marcelo Dadolce, along with training at the New York Academy, Art Students League, Art Barge, and the Long Island Academy of Fine Arts. These experiences helped shape what I describe as abstract realism: work grounded in faithful observation while embracing color, atmosphere, and emotion.
Whether I paint portraits, urban architecture, weathered houses, flowers, or landscapes, I return to the same idea: every subject has a quiet story waiting to be seen. By slowing down and looking carefully, I hope each painting invites the viewer to discover beauty in places that are often overlooked.
My work has been exhibited at Guild Hall, Ashawagh Hall, Golden Eagle, Depot Gallery in the Hamptons, and Artifact Projects Gallery in New York City.
